One of the most interesting people we met here was Tania Aebi, author of Maiden Voyage, the story of her two and a half year solo circumnavigation which she started aged 18! She is now sailing to the Pacific Islands with her two teenage sons. Here John is showing her some of our favourite anchorages in the San Blas islands and then saying goodbye as "Shangri La" leaves for Panama.
Cartagena is best known for the beauty of its walled city...
its fine colonial buildings...
and its narrow streets of colourful houses.

It is also a city in love with sculpture. Whether you prefer classical style...
...something more modern...
...something whimsical...
...or the ubiquitous Botero...you will find something to stop and admire at every turn!.
However, while the city is full of reminders of its illustrious and varied past...(we don't think Royal and Sunalliance have had an office here for many years...)
>
...it is very much a living city. Business is transacted at every corner...
an army of painters keeps the colours bright...
And while some traditions are reenacted purely for visitors...
>
others are just part of the colour and verve that is everyday life in Colombia!.
